How it works

   Set up the test program

   Six short tabs take the operator from sample details to advanced settings, and the program is saved for reuse.

   • Sample type: textile, paper, board or foil, with product, batch and customer details
   • Pressure in kg/cm², psi, bar or kPa; distension in mm, cm or inch
   • Lab temperature and humidity recorded with every test
   • Thickness, number of plies, grammage and pre-load
   • Pressure high and low limits for automatic pass/fail
   • Test and return speed from 5 to 500 ml/min, with an approach speed
   • Test method: CRB (constant rate bursting), CE (constant expansion), CP (constant pressure) or CTB (constant time bursting)
   • Stop at a set pressure or on a pressure drop, as a % or a value; hold time and auto return

   Run the test

   Everything the operator needs is on one screen.

   • Live pressure, maximum pressure, volume and time
   • Pressure vs volume curve drawn as the specimen bursts
   • Results for every specimen in the batch, with a running mean
   • Forward, reverse and set-home controls
   • Status bar with connection, flow rate and test area

   Analyse and report

   Professional reports with every result the standards ask for.

   • Bursting strength, bursting index (kPa·m²/g) and bursting factor
   • Burst energy absorption (BEA, J/m²) and BEA index (J/g)
   • Pass or fail shown for every specimen
   • Mean, median, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, max, min and range
   • Pressure vs volume, pressure vs time and volume vs time graphs
   • Change units or pick specimens after the test, then export to Excel or print
